TrickleStar Energy Portal Privacy Policy

When you use TrickleStar Energy Portal, you provide certain information to the TrickleStar company identified in the Terms of Service accompanying your product or provided during the product registration or initialization process (hereinafter "TrickleStar" or "us," "our" or "we"). In this Privacy Policy, we explain our data collection and processing practices for TrickleStar products and services. These include hardware (such as a TrickleStar Wi-Fi power measurement) and applications for tablets and/or smart phones (such as the Energy Portal).

Information Collection and Submission

Information You Provide Us

When you register or set up your product, you will actively provide your name, email address, country of residence, and security question responses, as well as information about your home electric devices (brand and model numbers), the Activities you choose to track and any specific settings you adjust as part of setting up your product. You may also actively provide the following: your zip or postal code. You will know what you submit in each case, because you will manually enter the information. If you contact us for customer support, you will provide us with information when you contact us.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use your TrickleStar Wi-Fi power measurement APS, our servers automatically receive and record information regarding the use of your product, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Product, such as the model number of your TrickleStar Wi-Fi power measurement or the version number of the Energy Portal
  • Data related to when you access our online software
  • Data related to the discovery of devices in your environment, and your use of product features

We also may use "cookies" when you access our website. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies to keep track of and authenticate your account information and the devices you use. Removing cookies may prevent you from taking full advantage of all of your TrickleStar product features.

Your TrickleStar Wi-Fi power measurement may send anonymous information to an analytics tool, including feature usage, performance metrics, errors, etc. This data is collected to understand how your product is being used and to provide us with useful information for future product improvements. This anonymous information is aggregated and will not be linked to your personal information.

If you do not wish TrickleStar to collect information set forth above, then do not use the TrickleStar product.

Information You Provide Third Parties

TrickleStar is not responsible for any information provided by you to third parties, and such information is not subject to this Privacy Policy. You assume all privacy, security and other risks associated with providing information, including personal information, to third parties. For a description of the privacy protections associated with the providing information to third parties, you should refer to the privacy policies, if any, provided by those third parties.

Information Use

We use the information you and your product provide to us in order to provide the service to you and enhance and improve it for you and other users, to provide advanced features such as sophisticated power measurement features and management of connected devices, and to provide technical support and information to you.

With your permission, we may also contact you with other relevant information, including product announcements, special offers, and events.

Information Storage

Your account or personal information is stored directly on TrickleStar servers in the United States, or any other countries in which TrickleStar or its corporate affiliates, subsidiaries or service providers maintain facilities. By using your TrickleStar product, you consent to this transfer of your personal information.

Some of your information is also stored directly on your TrickleStar product, your computer and/or your tablets and/ or smart phones.

Control & Review of Your Personal Information

You have the ability to direct us to edit, correct or erase certain information pertaining to you, your product and your use of the product by contacting us at Contact Us

You may stop the delivery of marketing e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the email received or by contacting us.

We will retain your information for as long as your accounts.

We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Business Transfers: In the event that TrickleStar is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.

Any translation for this policy is done for local requirements or convenience, and in the event of a dispute between the English and any non-English version, the English version will govern.
